Valve’s Steam Summer Sale has been going on for a few days now and I have been very impressed with the great deals on games that we have seen. Though, to be fair, I do wish that I had more disposable income to take advantage of the sale. read more
The folks over at the Humble Bundle are back with an excellent offering from Mode 7: The Humble Frozen Synapse Bundle, you get Frozen Synapse and its soundtrack. Frozen Synapse normally sells for $25 with the soundtrack selling for at least $6 by itself. The game looks great, though I haven’t played it as of yet. It currently has a metacritic score of 85 and generally favorable reviews all around.
As an added bonus, if you pay more than the going average–whic,h as of this writing, is $4.37–you will also get the Humble Frozenbyte bundle, which includes Trine, Shadowgrounds: Survivor, Shadowgrounds, a pre-order for Splot and the prototype for Jack Claw–along with most of their soundtracks. Trine is the only one of the set that I have played, but it is excellent.
If you are not familiar with the Humble Bundle, it is a “pay what you want” with no DRM, and all eligible games can be activated on Steam, Direct2Drive, and Desura. You also get to choose where you want your money to go: Split it up evenly, give it all to charity, or give it all to the developers. All in all, it is a great deal and goes to support some great causes. You do need to act fairly quickly, though, the bundle is only available until 12 October 2011.
